Baseball Camp @ CBU

By angielamberth

Organized sports have not been Nolan’s thing.  As much as he likes to play baseball, at the last minute he decided not to sign up last season. My friend Mandy’s husband is CBU’s baseball coach, and they invited Nolan to join in on their camp this summer and have fun learning more about the game. The kids’ coaches were past & present CBU players.

At first Nolan was pretty nervous about camp, and he even threw up before we went one morning. He decided to pray about it and after that mornings were much less dramatic. Midweek they pulled out an enormous tarp and let the kids (old & young) play on it like a huge slip n slide.  The coaches seemed to be having just as much fun with it as the kids.

It was a terrific camp, the coaches were amazing with the kids, and in the end Nolan had a very tiring but fun week!

I’m glad he had a fun week doing something new.

So glad Nolan had a great time after the rough start.
Speaking of baseball, the Walk and Rock fundraiser event I went to today was at Safeco Field. I stood where Mariner players have stood on the warning track. Got to go into a dugout. Stood where 3rd base would be…and lots of money was raised to help families who’ve lost small children pay for funerals/gravestones. It was heartbreaking and wonderful all at the same time. I walked in honor of my son James Douglas who died by miscarriage at 16 weeks.
Wanted to share these amazing words of comfort today. Praying!
Job 19:25-27 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

I don’t know you guys that well… but seeing Nolan here and comparing his picture to that of Mark’s… he’s got a lot of his dad in there… really cute.

I am so glad to hear that not only is he being pushed to do new and differant things but is also pushing himself and relaying on the LORD to get him through it! Praise God he is so blessed with a mother who is showing him the example of going to Jesus when you are scared or trubled or just need a friend! I am still praying for you guys! God bless!
