    Angie, Nolan, Barb and Jim, Matt, Amanda and Amy—You are in our/my prayers for wisdom and comfort during this most difficult season. My mother and I went through similar decisions making situations with my older sister in 2005. My heart is totally there with you….trust the Lord for His will. He and He alone is our Shield and Strength.

    This is for Nolan….God loves your Daddy very much. About 2000 years ago God allowed His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for sinful men ( and ladies, boys and girls) on the Cross. Jesus did not stay in the tomb where people laid him, but was taken to heaven (resurrected) by the Father where He is today waiting for all of us who believe in Him, by faith.

    Nolan, I know that you are sad and maybe are wondering why God allowed this to happen to your Daddy but look at it this way….there is a day coming when everybody that ever put their trust in Jesus will live together FOREVER. In Heaven we will be with Jesus and those that we loved here on earth.

    Not only does Jesus love your Daddy but also YOU! He will give you the strength to be a helper for your Mom and Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins, etc. Although you can’t see HIM, Jesus is always there for YOU.

    Consider yourself Hugged, Cindy Soto

  86. Chris & Andrea Scott Says:

    As I have read Mark’s story it makes my heart hurt. I have been at a bed side of a dying one and was told the chances. But just keep in mind those are only number’s and God does not do things just because of a number. Just let god lead the way and you will know in your heart what to do next. I guess what I am trying to say is doctors are human as well and they can not tell you what will or will not happen only God has that answer. So as hard as it is dont let their number’s rule in your mind leave it open for God to show his way.

  87. Patty Says:

    Still praying.

  88. Justin Pardee Says:

    For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.

    Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him;
    God is a refuge for us. Selah

  95. Deena, Shayna's mom Says:

    Asking the Lord for his mercy and compassion, in Jesus name

  96. Ron & Leah Case Says:

    “Challenging Decisions” yes, but…
    As challenging as these decisions are, the great news is that what is at stake is when Mark gets to go to glory. Know this, as a child of God he IS going, maybe today, maybe tomorrow maybe next week or ??? only God knows. 2 Peter 3:8-9 reminds us: “but you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.” We all want Mark for decades to come, but in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 the Apostle Paul described where Mark is going as “paradise”, “astounding” and pretty much “too cool for words.” He said; “I was caught up into the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether my body was there or just my spirit, I don’t know; only God knows. But I do know that I was caught up into paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be told.”
    Love you all,
    Ron & Leah

  97. ashley Says:

    I personally dont know you, but friends of the Christmas’s. Been praying for your family since I heard about the accident. My professor read this
    and I thought of your family. Its a hymn by Annie J. Flint.

    ” He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
    He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
    To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
    To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.
    When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
    When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
    When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
    Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
    Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
    Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
    Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
    The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
    His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
    His power no boundary known unto men;
    For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
    He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.”

    May His Angels surround you.

  100. ac Says:

    Father, in Jesus’ name, I come before your throne of grace and mercy in behalf of Mark and Angie… I ask of your abundant love and compassion, to look upon the condition of my brother Mark. I pray Father, through your son Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins, who also died so that we might live, that you release your healing upon the body of Mark right now. We command your angels to minister peace upon Angie as she faithfully waits upon you and trusts in you fully. Together with the multitudes praying for Mark’s healing and deliverance from this seemingly worsening fate, we look upon you and say, “all is well… all is well”… we commit this day unto you, Father, in the name of your son Jesus our Lord and savior… Amen.

    Psalms 73:25-26: Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

  101. Kristin Says:

    Angie: I have been there. Rely on God for your strength, he will sustain you through whatever he brings you to.

  102. Davie Says:

    Angie-
    I found this website today through a friend on Facebook. I want you and your family to know I am praying for y’all intensely. See, August 17, 2007 my first cousin/ best friend was T-boned by a drunk driver and care flighted to the nearest trauma hospital. As we arrived at the hospital the doctors told us there was severe damage to the inner part of a her brain, which was irreversible. They told us she would not make it through the night. We were devastated….the news literally took me straight to me knees mourning and that’s when I started to pray harder than I had ever prayed before. Well Jackie made it through the night, but the next day we had more devastating news…the drs told us if she made it past the next 24 hours she would more than likely be a vegetable the rest of her life. Praying never ceased from myself or the rest of my family and by this time we had their whole hometown community praying and her college community. We literally lived our lives minute by minute, update by update.
    Slowly, but surely her so-called irreversible brain trauma starting getting better. Today, she is still not totally healed but she has made SOOO much progress. She still continues to make progress and now the doctors are saying she is going to make a full recovery. We just have to be patient and continue to pray…which hasn’t stopped since August 17, 2007.
    Reading the updates about your husband took me back to the ICU waiting room. Every update was nearly identical to Jackie’s.
    Never underestimate the power of Prayer and our Amazing Lord. Without him, I don’t think Jackie would have made near as much progress as she has or even be here today. That is why I am adding your husband, you and your family to the top of my prayer list.
    Our saying for Jackie and her situation is EXPECT MIRACLES. I am EXPECTing MIRACLES for your husband, not just praying for them.

    To those of you who write the updates on this website:
    You really have no idea the impact you are making on everyone who reads this and how much you are helping. I didn’t know how to create a website for updates, so for Jackie I created a myspace page and updated it daily sometimes hourly. Since Jackie is back home and no longer in hospitals, and I have gone back to school, her dad has taken over the updates. But still today, I have people I don’t even know and have never met before recognize my name from her page and thank me for keeping them updated. It may not seem like y’all are doing much but y’all are moving mountains. I thank you so much.

    “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” -Jeremiah 29:11
    (This verse really kept us going through Jackie’s hard days and actually still today)

    I hope and pray for strength and conviction in all that you have to face right now, Angie. It is true that in times like this we can deal with more than we ever imagined – He holds us up and helps us endure these trials.

    Please remember to take care of you while struggling with this. And if you are like me you will also find that your son will help you to get through all of this. He will be your ‘rock’ just like my son was for me!

    Will be praying for you and yours in hopes that in some way it will help you all to do what is best.

    Love and peace to you all,
    Grannie in Florida
