Hey guys.
This Friday is a special day.
It is Mark and Angie’s 10 year wedding anniversary!!!
So what a perfect time to give them a gift with eternal significance.
For everyone involved.
We are asking everybody to fast for God to work in this situation with Mark.
Healing. Comfort. Strength. Peace.
All those things and more.
What is fasting?
In the simplest form, it is giving up of something you desire to focus on God and His way.
So for you that may be food, drink, television, internet, phone calls, ect.
You choose.
Here are some good scriptures on fasting… Matthew 6:16-18, Matthew 9:14-15, Luke 18: 9-14.
So THIS FRIDAY, from 10 am until 10 pm, on Mark and Angie’s 10 Year Anniversary, we will focus all our attention of God and His work in this situation.

EDITH SCHAEFFER (THE LIFE OF PRAYER)
Is fasting ever a bribe to get God to pay more attention to the petitions? No, a thousand times no. It is simply a way to make clear that we sufficiently reverence the amazing opportunity to ask help from the everlasting God, the Creator of the universe, to choose to put everything else aside and concentrate on worshiping, asking for forgiveness, and making our requests known—considering His help more important than anything we could do ourselves in our own strength and with our own ideas.

What a testimony to the power of prayer. I first prayed for Mark within hours of the accident through power of social media, aka twitter. God uses everything and everyone. Many degrees removed from the Lamberth’s but praying and leaning on our Lord and Savior to hold and protect them.

I know what it is to have a loved one in the hospital in a comma. My brother had a neck injury and was in the Hospital for a while. Sadly my mother was the one who had to deal with it and make the decision to turn him off the machine since we were told of him not making it. My mother talk to him as well as my older sisters I was to small to go. He was non reactive because of the comma but he new we were there since tears fell from his face when he was talked to. He was the greatest guy, funny, nice, cool and thoughtful. Then we were not Christian and didn’t get the encouragement and hope from others and not new of it from God. I am thankful now that I know Christ and I can see with all of you the wonderful unfaliing love God has for us. The hope for tomorrow the unfailing faith. I will join you all in FASTING in giving up more then material things since they are not important. I will give up words that bring people down and use those that built up instead. God be will all of you.

To LISA FOTO, you are an inspiration for your obedience to the Lord by reaching out to the Lamberth family.
To the BODY OF CHRIST, there is great beauty in seeing you act as ambassadors for our Lord. I am humbled and honored to see so many people obediently and lovingly acting just as Christ intended us to do. Bear one anothers burdens, intercede, for one another, and minister. There is no greater calling than to be a servant. What a blessing all of you are.
To ANGIE, today as the Lord laid you on my heart, I am acutely aware that you have a “new life”. To put into words how to perofrm or how to feel in this “new life”, is like taking away your hands, giving you wings and saying, “now go about life as normal”. It can’t be done. There are no rules or codes of conduct to rely on, to make sense of this “new life”. But you can rely on what the Lord has instilled in your heart, to trust Him, you don’t have to do anything else. You have permission to do nothing, but be where you feel you need to be. Let Him continue be glorified by the others he is using as His instruments to help you, to intercede on your behalf, and to be your strength.
A praying sister in Christ our Lord,
cyndy

Ps91. “He who dwells in the secret places of the most high will rest under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my strength, my God in Him will I trust. Surely he is able to deliver you from the snare of the Fowler and the perilous pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge.”
In times when our faith and our strength appear to be stretched to the max, God is calling us to take refuge in His strength and to look at His faithfulness in the past and to trust in His sovereign good pleasure.

To Mark, Angie, Nolan, Jimmy, Barb and the rest of my family in California, and I mean ALL of you!!!
As I was thinking of you all tonight and having just read the lastest update (Praise the Lord for the progress), I was wanting to share one of my favorite bible verses with you. I have a special collection of verses that I read over and over whenever I have a special need, concern, or worry. I have relied on these verses through some very difficult times in my life. They draw me even closer to Him.
The verse is Psalm 116:1-2
I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
This verse makes me think of all the prayers the Lord has been hearing and all the more He will be hearing tomorrow. I love picturing the Lord leaning His ear to me and listening just to me!!!! Alex, Zach, Chandler and myself will be joining the Fasting on Friday. Please know you are never far from our thoughts.
Thanks so much to Troy and everyone else who has contributed to keeping us updated. It means so much!
All my love,
Cousin Michele in Idaho

You alone are God.” As I pray and fast tomorrow, asking God for a miracle in Mark’s life, my thoughts and prayers will be for you as a family as well.

What the Lord has ministered to me…..
The book of Titus tells us that it is excellent and profitable for everyone to do good. We’re expected to do good as followers of Christ. But John 15:5 tells us that we can do nothing when we are apart from Him.
“Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.” from John 15
His cleansing gives us access to the throne of God. “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,” We go to God in Jesus’ name and we know that there’s power in that name. John 15 and 16 tells us that we can ask God anything in His name and not only that but He asks for us too. ”Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16
Jesus said that if we love Him we will keep His commandments. We do good works because we love Him. Not to win His favor or bend His ear. All that “doing “ makes us His friend. But we can do no good without Him. We cannot be guiltless of sin without Him. So, no matter what we do, it’s still Jesus that does the work
I don’t pretend to understand this very well. I only know that I’m going to obey to the best of my understanding and by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Angie, praying for your family is the only loving thing that I know I can do.
We fast to see God’s power because that’s what Jesus did(Mark 9:29).
Traditionally, fasting was to be a sign of humbling yourself before the Lord(Ps.35:13). Our first act is to confess our sins and remember our place before the throne of God.

Jan and I will be traveling today (Friday) toward the west. We will be in prayer all day for Mark, Angie and Nolan. I am so thankful for God’s grace and for his healing power. We all come today to you Lord on behalf of Mark to ask for a complete recovery. Bless Mark and Angie on this special day. Help the medical staff to be mindful and knowledgeble of Your presence. To God be the glory.
I remember 10 years ago when I had the pleasure of preforming their marriage. God continues to do good works through their lives. Bless them today.
I will not be able to fast due to medical reasons, but we will be in prayer as we travel. We will see you all next week.

Happy Anniversary! Looking forward to how God will glorify Himself today!
Here’s another great quote I found:
ANDREW MURRAY (South African pastor and missionary)
Prayer needs fasting for its full growth. Prayer is the one hand with which we grasp the invisible. Fasting is the other hand, the one with which we let go of the visible. In nothing is man more closely connected with the world of sense than in this need for, and enjoyment of, food. It was the fruit with which man was tempted and fell in Paradise. It was with bread that Jesus was tempted in the wilderness. But He triumphed in fasting.

I am denying myself the joys of coffee today in order to focus my prayers for you. The day I heard I went to my knees. My mother in law has agreed to fast today as well.

Angie, Jim, Barb, Matt, Mandy, Amy–and many others:
Just a note to let you know that I am praying and fasting with you today. Angie, 10 years ago today, you were waiting for God to give you your husband; now you’re waiting for God to give him back. I’m sure Mark had a wonderful gift planned for you today. Since he’s not able to come through with it right now, I’m asking God to give you the gift. Hang tight, dear ones.

Just wanted you guys to know that you have prayers coming from SC. I have been fasting since this am. Everytime I think about drinking anything, but water I say a prayer for Mark. I know your hearts are filled with anguish at this time, but find comfort in knowing that others care. You are not alone.

Hi guys,
What wonderful news today! Thank God!
I want you to know that the neighborhood will be getting together to pray for you tonight at 7pm. Mark also continues to be prayed for through the RFMC prayer chain. I am so excited that HE is healing Mark, even if slowly, It never ceases to amaze me how God works his wonders. And He is bringing his believers together in the process! We are both fasting and praying with you all today.
In Him,
Brandy and Eric
